After more than 13 years, and tens of thousands of questions, we’re finally closing Moz Q&A. Whilst we’re not completely removing the content - many posts will still be possible to view - we’re locking both new posts and new replies. Why? The truth is that the conversation has moved elsewhere. Sites like Twitter, Reddit, and more recently BlueSky and LinkedIn, have largely replaced specialist forums. At the same time, the challenge of moderating a platform like this has become more difficult, and of course, we’re SEOs, and the sheer quantity of new pages generated, often by malicious actors, has its challenges in terms of what it does to the profile of our site. Forums are still an opportunity for many sites, in SEO and more broadly, but the calculus no longer works for Moz. Where can I ask my question instead? If you’re a customer or currently evaluating a free trial, you can reach out directly with questions about the product to our customer support team here. If you want to learn more about SEO, you can check our learning resources here, and we also offer the Moz Academy. If you just want to hang out, you can also still find us on X, BlueSky, or LinkedIn. Thank you We’re grateful to everyone who has contributed to Moz Q&A over the years. It’s been a blast, and we hope this isn’t the last time we’ll see you here on the Moz site.

I unsure how my page got backlinked on this "passive DNS" website: http://pdns.daloo.de/search.php?alike=0&q=66.96.162.137 This looks to be my only inbound link, so I am  worried this is negatively affecting my site ranking. Is this 56% spam score link negatively affecting my website? If so, any suggestions? Any feedback or insight would be greatly appreciated as I am very ignorant to what this person's webpage is about and why my page was linked.. Sincerely, Hayden My website: https://cashflo.org/

Hi All, I'm interviewing with the director of SEO of a large enterprise company tomorrow afternoon and would love some pointers. It's a relatively large company with about 3,000+ employees. There are currently 2 people doing SEO exclusively in the company and they are looking to expand the team significantly. As I understand it, my role will be to help out with link building initiatives. I currently work freelance as a content marketer for startups. While I do some onsite optimization and some keyword research, I consider building domain authority by creating quality content that gets links to be my main focus. But link building for a large enterprise may be a little less hands-on than I'm used to. I imagine I'll be working with different departments, namely these ones: Biz Dev Team PR Team SEM Team I imagine there will be some questions about how I would work with these departments to help build links. Any suggestions for working with these other teams? What other questions should I be prepared for? Oh, and here's my resume for those interested...I imagine there will be some questions about my background too: http://bit.ly/KenjisResume Thanks, Kenji

  • I have a website with less than 3K visits a year. Only customers with an Account with me who have login credentials can see my product pricing and make a purchase onsite; therefore, indexing/page ranking is not a concern for me. My agency suggests that my product catalog be corrected to a parent/child relationship. Currently, each product variation has its own SKU and PDP. As a result, product findability: Site Search, Categorization, and Facets are a mess. Is there any way I can keep my current URL (branding purposes)? I thought we could delete all pages (PLPs & PDPs) and create all new and enforce 301 redirects. Thoughts?

  • Our company recently rebranded and launched a new website. The website was developed by an overseas team and they created the test site on their subdomain. The only problem is that Google crawled and indexed their site and ours. I noticed Google indexed their sub domain ahead of our domain and based on Search Console it has deemed our content as the duplicate of theirs and the Google selected theirs as the canonical. The website in question is https://www.spaziointerni.us What would be the best course of action to get our content ranked and selected instead of being marked as the duplicate? Not sure if I have to modify the content to make it more unique or have them submit a removal in their search console. Our indexed pages continue to go down due to this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.
